I Wish I Was Special

Maybe you're like me. Maybe you have a friend that just released a song on iTunes.  Maybe this makes you happy for him but sad for yourself, because you still haven't recorded anything, even though you were once promised it would happen. Maybe you have an internship where you never get to go to court and everyone else does. Maybe you can laugh at it a little bit because your supervisor has tried so hard to get you into the courtroom but it just keeps not working out. Maybe you spent a whirlwind weekend in Utah to go to a friend's wedding reception and visit your sister and you left on Sunday to get back in time for trial on Monday, only to find out the trial has been continued. Maybe you got your visa in the mail last week and you can't believe that soon you will be in France fulfilling a lifelong dream. Maybe you think about driving back to Newport Beach, CA every single day. Maybe you think it is a little crazy that in a year you'll be graduated from

Like Maybe if I Were a Mom, This Would Be Something I'd Blog

This morning I was awakened by my niece running into the bedroom crying. I asked her what was wrong and told her to use her words, to which her response was more wailing. I found out the problem was she didn't want to get her hair done. My niece has curly hair and she moves around A LOT in her sleep. This means her hair is a bit tangled in the morning. She hates getting it combed. Her mom once again tried to get her to get her hair done, another forcefully negative response, and my sister- in- law sent her to bed. She nodded, so I told her to close her eyes and start snoring. She did. Then I told my sister Madalynn that Shyanne was asleep and when she woke up she was going to be a not booger. When Shyanne ope

I read a lot of blogs. I read blogs of people that live in Southern California talking about how it's hot. Lies. All lies. I drove to L.A. on Thursday night for my visa appointment Friday morning. Friday morning I sat outside my hotel and ate my bowl of Honey Nut Tastee O's. It was not hot. At all. In the very slightest. After my 45 minute appointment that I drove 6 and 1/2 hours for (thanks France), I drove down to Costa Mesa, CA to visit my wonderful friend Sarah Smallcomb. I spent time with her and her fabulous sister Savannah and her lovely parents, I even finally met her brother. All of her family is just lovely. All of them. Right down to their brand new kitten. First, we went to Lucille's for lunch. If you are ever in Southern California and have a hankering for some delicious bar-be-cue, I highly recommend Lucille's. Afterwards we went down to Balboa Island. Have you ever seen Arrested Development? The banana stand is on Balboa Island. So, of course,
