The Great Lie About Illegal Immigration

I read Todd's blog recently. So I found this article about illegal immigration which gets to the fact of the matter. Illegal immigrants actually cost America money. All these years and all that crap about them taking jobs no one else wants and keeping the economy running is a huge lie. Now, not only are we spending money on the illegal immigrants that are already here, we're wasting time and money building a big wall to keep immigrants out. I will admit, that if, after the wall is done, it accomplishes it's goal I will be the first to admit I was wrong and the wall is a good idea. Until that happens however, I am taking the stance that this wall won't make a bit of difference when it comes to illegal immigrants. They are still going to come, and the government isn't going to do anything to stop them.
I do feel sorry for people that are so desperate to leave their country that they come here illegally, but there needs to be a new solution, called fixing the immigration laws. The economics of it all brings it down to this, the world economy would fare much better if we could repair our immigration laws so that those who go through the proper channels are allowed to become a legal citizen of the US, and those who don't can't stay here and work.
If its really that bad in your home country, move to India and work at a call center.

One thing that you have to keep in mind is that our population would be declining without immigration. And, I think that if you say that illegal immigrints don't add anything to our economy you are wrong. Look at how much outsourcing American companies are doing. Basically, we outsource a ton of work to illegals, they just happen to live here. It is outsourcing because they are not US citizens.

I think that the wall will help. It may not solve the problem, but it will help.

In the early 1980s, I lived in West Germany. There was a wall there. I saw the wall, the barbed wire, the gaurds in their towers with rifles. Is that how we are going to solve this problem? The problem with illegals in this day and age is terrorism and drug trafficing, Not to mention the havoc that is created in the education system. The best thing to do is to help those countries whose citizens are living in such poverty learn how to fix THEIR systems to help their own people instead of sending their problems on to us. Our population would go down? So? Our cities are crowded and booming and those illegals are doing nothing to help clean up the lower income neighborhoods or to stop the crime there. Come to AZ and see the problems with illegals here. What is happening is a dole system of living is being promoted throughout the world now.

I recently received this message as one of those "Fwd:" emails. I thought it rather pertinent to the subject.... ;)

"Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately;
illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in
Florida . . .

Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win

+ Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.
+ Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.
+ Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today ?"

The US would NOT have net population loss if the current levels of rampant illegal immigration weren't allowed. Our birthrates are not like Italy or least not yet.

Articles like this, however, give me hope that progress is being
made. The virtual fence that was approved today is a step in the right direction. I think we need Predator drones, convoys of BP agents, and thermal imaging cameras monitoring every inch of the southern border until we can curb this influx of migrants.
