I'm On a Boat

I did not sleep well last week. I'd go to bed late, and then just lay there not sleeping, and then get up in the morning, and I didn't always get a nap after my internship. Friday night Jackie's internet randomly stopped working. She didn't know quite what to do about it. I, of course, could really do nothing, but I felt I had to show my support and concern by staying awake with her for the first little while as she tried to get her computer to connect to their internet. Jackie stayed up later than I did, but I still didn't go to bed until about 2 AM, then I woke up at 7:30 AM, about 45 minutes later than I intended. You see the singles branch was having a boating activity that day and they were meeting at the church building... no wait, the Fred Meyer's parking lot (there were conflicting reports about where we were supposed to meet), to drive to Vantage. Jackie was in charge- ish. She was called to be the activities committee chair the Sunday after I got he...

Big Brother is Awesome

Today is my brother Aaron's birthday, so tis time for his birthday tribute. I've been pondering really where to begin with Aaron. You see he is my older brother, and when I was younger I was jealous that he got to be born in Germany. What a jerk. Growing up I think he and I had the toughest relationship. We weren't always bondy bondy. I've always looked up to Aaron though. He is really smart. I mean, all of my siblings are smart, but there is something about Aaron's intelligence that is striking. He is almost as smart as me! ;)  I think one of the great things about Aaron growing up was that he always gave me perspective on things. I was neurotic in school, probably starting in preschool. Getting straight A's was terribly important to me, and when I didn't, my life was over. I would literally fall apart. Aaron was always there with the perspective. "Lindsey, why do you care? It doesn't mean you're not smart." He'd always hel...

My Life is Awesome

This post on the fourth is a little late, but I just wanted to post a few pictures from the weekend. The weekend was filled with giddy happiness as Shena came up to Yakima for the weekend. It had been nearly a year since Shena and Jackie had seen each other, and seriously, any time I can spend together with friends is just completely lovely. The holiday weekend was filled with late nights, hiking Cowiche Canyon, trying to pick cherries and getting there too late to pick our own but still buying some delicious ones to gorge ourselves on, watching Alice in Wonderland, enjoying the break the fast feast, and heading up to Cle Elum where Shena's friend Derek's family has a cabin and enjoying the bonfire and the fireworks in town. All in all, this weekend was perfect. Monday Shena left :( and Jackie had to work :(, but I did sleep in :) and wander around the Yakima green taking a few pictures, so here is a conglomeration of photos.   I'm not certain w...

The Northwest Passage

Don't be jealous (Dayna) but I went to Seattle this weekend. I figured, I've been in Yakima a whole week now so it had to happen. Actually my friend Tyler told me there was a YSA activity in Everett this weekend. So I went to that on Friday night and saw him, but before I left I informed my friend Sarah Richardson that I was coming, and seeing her was a requirement, since our rendez-vous in New York was an epic fail. Well when Sarah discovered I had never been to Seattle before she said we should ditch the YSA activity on Saturday. I couldn't have agreed more, since that had been my secret plan in the first place. So  we went to Pike's Place. Its the big marketplace in Seattle with lots of street vendors. This is where they throw the fish. Although they didn't really do it while we were there... They also have street performers. My favorite was this guy. Pianos rock. He was really good too. There was also this French Bread shop that smelled like ...

I'm Only Going to Say This Once

Then I will never bother you about it ever again. My blog delivers a small income to me each month. Perhaps you did not know that. See, I added Ad Sense to my blog a while back, and that is currently the only way I am making the dineros. This already sounds tacky. I just wanted you to be aware. If you see an ad that interests you, by all means click on it. You can't just click on one just so I get paid more, as nice of you as that is. Google checks. I don't know how they'd know, but they would, they're Google. Thats all. Either way, please keep reading my blog. I promise I'm determined to continue to try and improve my writing here.
